Are you a financial specialist who has a keen eye for detail? If so then we have a fantastic opportunity for you to progress your career as a Financial Transaction Centre Analyst, focusing on Rents, working within our well established Finance Transaction Centre Team. This role is an FTC/Secondment opportunity for a 12 month basis.
This varied role for a Financial Transaction Centre Analyst requires an individual to produce accounting entries and accurately record financial transactions in relation to leases and charges associated with leases (e.g. service charge and insurance). You will produce accounting entries and accurately record financial transactions in relation to business rates, and manage the compilation of turnover information requests as documented in certain leases and ensure accruals are in place for turnover rents payable. You will also ensure the correct record rental and service charge income in relation to unlicensed property sites (ULP) i.e. sites owned by but not operated by MAB and leased to a third party.
Finally, you will ensure Retail Management and RBM bonuses are calculated accurately and in line with the relevant bonus scheme and that these bonuses are approved in line with policy and sent to payroll before the payment deadline.

The Opportunity – Financial Transaction Centre Analyst - Rents
Your role and responsibilities will be challenging and varied, including the following: -
- Review and check funds requests from MABs outsourced estates management company (CBRE). Checks are for validity of payment and to ensure any variances to expectation are understood.
- Review and check funds requests from MABs outsourced business rates management company (Gerald Eve). Checks are for validity of payment and to ensure any variances to expectation are understood.
- Posting of the rent and rates funds requests to the general ledger.
- Posting of the periodic charge for rent, service charges and insurance in relation to leased properties.
- Calculation and posting of the periodic rates charge to the general ledger.
- Calculation of the turnover rent accrual for sites where this is appropriate (approx. 30 sites)
- Production of monthly, quarterly and annual turnover certificates in line with contracted deadlines (approx. 30 sites).
- Ownership of all rent and rates related control accounts and investigating and resolving any variances.
- Assist with any P&L queries that may come from the business around leased charges or rates.
- Answer queries from and provide information to external and internal auditors for leased related matters and control accounts.
- Work closely with Financial Accounts to assist in resolving any ‘IFRS16 Leases' accounting queries, including liaison with external property management company as appropriate.
- Assisting with the quarterly and annual bonus calculations and the approval process for all Retail Management schemes and RBM schemes.
- Handling and responding to queries from operators in relation to bonus queries and challenges.

- A degree in accounting or related field or Part qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA or equivalent accounting qualification.
- The ability and drive to meet deadlines, turning work round quickly and accurately
- Keen attention to detail
- Clear and professional verbal and non-verbal communication
- Financial and operational appreciation
- The ability to gain trust and build rapport with wider functions
- Good team player but capable of working on own initiative
- Strong Excel skills
- Experience using JD Edwards Enterprise One and Hubble report tool would be advantageous
