Ember Inns is our collection of local pubs often referred to as a home away from home. Think real ales, traditional pub grub and roaring open fires at the heart of local communities.

As part of the Ember Inns family, you can expect a job filled with warmth, heart and a welcome you're unlikely to find anywhere else.

In this blog, we get to know some of our Ember Inns team who pride themselves in serving up the Nations favourite pub classics including Bar Team Member Josh, Waiting Team member Liam, Head Chef James and Shift Supervisor Lauren, who will all be sharing their experiences.

What is a Bar job like at Ember Inns?

Meet Josh, Ember Inns Bar Team member.

What was your reason for joining The Ember Inns Family?

I was looking for jobs in the area with an environment that helped me build my confidence of talking to people after COVID isolation. This has helped to expand my horizons.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

My favourite thing about my role is different people particularly regulars and the opportunity to throw yourself in any new situations whilst learning to deal with and resolve any issues.  I also feel the job role has helped with my organisation skills and time management skills.

What would you say to someone considering joining Ember Inns as Bar Staff?

Go for it - Going in for my first 4-5 hour shift I was nervous - If I could speak to myself last year I'd say - go for it, you will be glad you did.

What is your favourite brand dish?

On the Christmas menu it would have to be the Camembert Cheeseburger.

Who is your dream dinner guest?

Nan who is a lady who recently visited the business on her own and I could tell she wanted to talk. I was at end of my shift, and it was quite so chatted to her.  She had so many different things to tell me to reminisce.  Sitting down with Nan is always a nice experience for me.

What makes M&B different from other employers?

I love working for Ember Inns – in particular I like the 33% discount I can use at all M&B restaurants and Pubs. My manager brilliant, he ensures shifts work around my University work and is very accommodating.  I am really happy here.
